Nate, his brother Gabe, and I were pretty much inseparable when we lived on the same block- I had two phone numbers memorized: mine and theirs =) We'd spend hours playing elaborate games of hide-and-seek, mother may I, building forts, catching toads, climbing trees, and generally having what is cons

@impossibleangles - You read Questionable Content, too? I love it. And that was a great link, lol.

So you want to go to Portland State?? I love this school, I really do!
Portland in general is awesome! Good luck on admissions and what not!
Wow.. I feel bad saying this then =O Sorry! I was thinking a more subtle color for the background so we can read your writing more easily. That yellow is bothersome though because it's so bold.. and the colors aren't good for the writing. Especially where the black is, the black writing just sort of blends in.
@Miss_Righteous - I made it.
@grammarboy - Did you make this theme yourself or picked it?
@Miss_Righteous - Dangit. I tried to come up with something that would show up without looking ugly. Any suggestions?
Umm... How do I say this? I like your blogs, but they are hard to read because of the colors on your site lol. Your theme really gets to me =/
@grammarboy - yupp, I sure did.
@mstigerfrogs - Yes, I graduated in 2004. So you graduated in 2007?
Wow, so you graduated in 2004? That's when my best friend graduated. I was a freshman then.
Hello =) <3
Dang, my comment went long, and I didn't know there was a limit, so it got cut off. So, I'll rewrite the end.
... was admirable, but the notion was. So he turned out neutral in my eyes, just a book.
I don't claim to be any wiser than Montag. I can't differentiate between the times to speak out and the times to live to fight another day either. Sometimes speaking out gets you nothing but dead. Sometimes it gets you a medal of honor.
I'm inclined to believe that I will always speak my mind. Maybe that means I'm bound to be struck down by the hound without ever making a difference.
At least I can live with myself.
krissy_cole asked: Does Montag becoming Ecclesiastes insinuate that "there is a time" for speaking out?
I'm not really sure what you mean in reference to becoming Ecclesiastes, but I do think there are times for speaking out.
I'm not sure whether Montag could have accomplished anything by speaking out. If the poetry reading is any indication, he couldn't have, except for making himself a target.
I said he wasn't a hero, but I don't think he could have been, and perhaps he got the closest he could. The society was just too far gone to save. Imagine how it would have been had he just run away to the countryside from the start, when he realized something was wrong with the society. He would have just been gone, likely not missed, but it would have been exactly the same end result.
But he stayed. He tried subversion, tried to make a difference for others, however misguided. I can't say that anything specific that he did
